The Proctor Silex Deep Fryer is a strong option for some very specific buyers. While it lacks the powers or features of many of our favorite fryers, it gives strong results for those who are primarily seeking a small, easy to clean deep fryer. While our favorite small deep fryer remains the Presto FryDaddy (See our review here), and our overall favorite fryer remains the Secura Stainless-Steel Triple-Basket Fryer (see our in-depth review here), the Proctor Silex Deep Fryer is a solid fryer at a great price. The Proctor Silex deep fryer includes a 1.5 liter oil capacity. While small, this unit is not designed to feed large groups of people. When frying up 1-2 servings of a single dish like egg rolls, this fryer has ample oil capacity. One of the unit’s biggest selling points is the compact size. With dimensions of 8.82 x 19.8 x 8.94 inches, this unit goes a long way towards saving counter and cabinet space

One major drawback is the limited wattage that comes with this unit. While the Proctor Silex has similar oil capacity to other popular compact deep fryers like the FryDaddy, it lacks the wattage of its contemporaries.
Features
This deep fryer comes with more features than most compact fryers, and it has a more stylish look than products like the FryDaddy or the CoolDaddy. However, the unit does have an adjustable thermostat with a light that indicates the fryer has reached the desired temperature.

The Proctor Silex Deep Fryer comes in as one of the lowest-priced and most compact deep fryers we have reviewed. The unit certainly has its fans given the multiple positive reviews, and may be an option for anyone on a budget that wants a compact deep fryer with more features than a Presto FryDaddy. However, there have been several reports of this fryer struggling to reach maximum temperature. What’s more, there have been complaints regarding the fryer arriving in less than perfect condition. If budget is your major concern, this may be the best small deep fryer for you. However, we generally recommend the Presto FryDaddy if you’re in the market for a compact deep fryer.
