Philips Airfryer Review

Husband. Father. Deep fry fanatic. Thanks for joining on me this crispy, delicious journey.

The HD9220/28 is perhaps the most common air fryer from Phillips and it is a little smaller than some of its counterparts. But, it does provide excellent results.

This is an excellent option for those who still want the analog user experience. Dials are installed on the front of the fryer with which you can control time and temperature settings. The placement is also quite comfortable and you won’t have issues adjusting the settings.

Philips Airfryer Review

Similar to the other Philips fryers in this category, this fryer uses a patented starfish and rapid air technology to give you the best cooking outcomes. So much has been said concerning this starfish design at the bottom of the fryer but what are the advantages? The main upside is that in combination with the rapid air technology, the starfish design moves air around the whole unit evenly to ensure an even cook.

Following the instructions in the recipe book, and thus adding a teaspoon of oil during the cook test, it was found that foods such as chicken, chips, and fish cooked pretty well and evenly. There are so many other suggestions in the cookbook which you can try out to get the best results.

The only drawback of the analog set up is that you might not get the exact levels of accuracy that is obtainable when using a digital unit. The upside of this set up is that it will last a lot longer as it doesn’t have so many electronic and moving parts. This fryer is a lot more durable than many of its digital counterparts.

Please keep in mind that this model has a maximum timer setting of 30 minutes and a total capacity of 2.65 pounds. Most foods will generally take less than 30 minutes to cook so you shouldn’t have too many problems. But considering the capacity, it will only serve two.

On a general concluding note, this air fryer is a top choice for anybody who is searching for a durable and quality analog fryer that delivers excellent cooking results. It might seem a little pricey considering it doesn’t have so many accessories but it is still a value purchase. And to top it off, it is approved by Gordon Ramsay.
