The Black and Decker Air Fryer does very well with chicken, hamburgers and chips and cooking is very even and consistent. This is due mainly to the dual convection fans that help spread hot air evenly across the cooking chamber. This fryer comes at a relatively small size and as such. Unfortunately, you can’t expect to cook for more than two people with it. This fryer also has another excellent feature. The auto shut off feature offers peace of mind knowing your food will not get burnt should you forget.
This unit comes with a mesh divider that makes it possible to cook two portions at the same time. The timer can also go as high as 60 minutes. As for indicators, you will find two at the top of the fryer. One indicates when the fryer is on and the other shows you when the fryer has reached the appropriate temperature.
All of the accessories are dishwasher safe and they have a very good grip and feel to them that make it easy to handle. The build also prevents it from getting too hot when in use. These are all excellent features to have in a fryer.
This fryer, like many other fryers, also has its shortcomings. One of the main ones is the incremental increase of temperature by 50 degrees up to its highest value. This means you will find it difficult to get an exact temperature setting. The temperature indicators are also a little hard to read because of the tiny print.
At around $100, this fryer is an excellent value. What’s more, It does very well with cooking and it can rank as high as any of the better fryers we have seen in this regard. It is also way cheaper than some of the fryers which offer around the same value as it foes like the Phillips model.
