Big Boss Air Fryer Review

Husband. Father. Deep fry fanatic. Thanks for joining on me this crispy, delicious journey.

Without even reading the At Least We Fried Big Boss Air Fryer Review, It’s probably easy to discern from the name what the main selling point of this fryer is. This air fryer comes with a huge capacity of 15L and is capable of cooking two dishes at the same time. The temperature can be dialed up to as high as 450 F with the ‘triple cooking power’ of halogen, convection heat, and infrared.

Big Boss Air Fryer Review

What is the heating mechanism? The three heating mechanisms (halogen, convection, and infrared) work together to give the final result. The infrared heats up the food from within but retains all of the moisture whilst the halogen and convection elements generate heat which is spread evenly by a fan. This is what makes it possible to cook food three times faster than using a normal conventional oven.

To test this fryer, we reverted back to the usual food- French fries. In the recipe book that comes with the fryer, a temperature of 450 F and a duration of 20 minutes was recommended for optimum fry. However, after following the instruction and cooking the fries, we discovered that the pieces at the edge cooked a little more than those at the center and we had to fry for about 5 minutes longer. This isn’t a major issue but other big fryers have somehow managed to do better in this regard.

With its price point, it is very attractive but this comes at a cost obviously as many tradeoffs would have been made in order to keep it at the lower than $100 value. One very obvious one is the lack of a digital display.

The components that require cleaning are all dishwasher safe. You will find it a tad difficult to clean the glass bowl due to its wright. Be careful not to touch this unit with your bare hands when cooking as it gets very hot.

When you factor in all of the metrics, this fryer probably falls short when compared to others in its category. The bright side of buying this fryer is the accessories and the overall size of it. You will, however, have issues with how well it cooks food and the overall handling of the device.

Verdict

The Big Boss Air Fryer was a little frustrating to review. It does some things well, including the huge volume and some unique features. However, it fell short in some critical areas like even cooking and ease of cleaning. Altogether, while this certainly isn’t a bad device we prefer some of the higher ranked models.
